Sitting back
making myself comfortable
waiting for
the hairdresser
to get ready.
“So sir”
she said
after a while
“Have you had
a dream recently”.
I wonder why
she would ask
as just last night
a dream
so vivid
so real
still rang within
my head.
“Funny you should ask”
I said
“A dream that
seemed almost
familiar”.
“Perhaps”
she said
“that it could almost be
Deja Vu”?
“Maybe” I said
as hair fell
about my shoulders.
“Can you tell me”
she said
scissors flashing
“I would like
to know as
I collect dreams”
“Of course”
I said
“My dream
was that
I was a monkey”
“Interesting”
she said
“But”
I said
“I dreamt
I was getting
my hair cut
by a monkey”
“That was
a strange dream”
she said
as she filed
my dream away,
brushing my hair.
