The word prompt from Sunday Stills: Water
Terri asked if we would go with a sub-theme of Stand-up Paddling. Well that isn’t a big thing around my part of the world. Living in the bush (or forest for my overseas friends), there’s not much call for paddle boards around these parts.
The thing that happened on the weekend was rain, beautiful, beautiful rain to quench the parched land and put out the bushfires that threatened so many homes including the homes of animals who inhabit the bush.
So my post has a little bit of the rain that has gladdened my heart.
Yes a little bit of rain. Water drops on a Xanthorrhoea or Grass Tree.
A little bit of water is what all plants need as do we humans.
As I mentioned Xanthorroea, I guess I should give a bit of information about them. This is a couple that are growing in a gully on my place.
These Grass Trees are about 3 to 4 meters tall which makes these ones quite old as their growth rate is about twenty-five millimeters or one inch a year. The one on the background has a flower spike or a spear which is around two meters tall.
