The word prompt from Bren and Ashley at ryanphotography: Lighthouse
Cape Otway Lighthouse has saved many a life from the rough seas of the Southern Ocean. You can see the shadow of the lighthouse in the bottom of the photo
The Cape Otway Lighthouse was freshly painted and the maintenance ensures its important place on the coast
Beautiful shadows – esp the clever little first one – almost has a circle around it -and I wonder how often they need to paint this – I heard the Eiffel Tower is painted every four years

Thank you Yvette 🙂 I don’t think it is painted all that often. I looked on their website but it’s more of a tourist site. The Sydney Harbour Bridge is always being painted. They start one end and by the time they get to the other end it’s time to start again

The stories told about this lighthouse are tales of daring and tragedy

Aren’t they all . . . . . tremendous hope and despair in one building.
