The Tuesday Photo Challenge word prompt from Frank: Build has elicited some great entries. Well worth a visit to Dutch goes the Photo
As is my usual want, here are some builds from nature. I have posted bird nests over the past few weeks so I thought I would put some insect builds
The caterpillar builds it’s cocoon from sticks woven with silk thread.
I still don’t know whose nest this is. I have the piece of wood on my verandah waiting to see if anyone emerges. Isn’t it a fabulous build?
The Bull Ants build a large mound and if anyone comes near, out they come to defend their nest.
The spiders web is a fascinating build. This one I found on the ground, complete with dew drops sparkling like jewels, before the suns warmth melted it away
love the spider web the best…I watched a youtube once of a spider building his web- what a miracle!

Yes I must admit it is one of my favourite photos of 2017. The spiders making their webs when they have been affected by stimulants is quite amusing

I like all the unique nature photos here – and the uniqueness of the drops on the nest is what I kept going back too – has this cellular feel with the shapes and size of the droplets.

Thank you Yvette. I was lucky to find that web at the right time of day. Light was just perfect 🙂

I am also curious who might emerge from that one nest. Great capture of the cocoon. Amazing how a close up really shows the silky looking thread. Looks comfy. Not sure I would like the house mate though.

I am sure who was responsible for the munching of some pot plants
