Build

The Tuesday Photo Challenge word prompt from Frank: Build has elicited some great entries. Well worth a visit to Dutch goes the Photo

As is my usual want, here are some builds from nature. I have posted bird nests over the past few weeks so I thought I would put some insect builds
The caterpillar builds it’s cocoon from sticks woven with silk thread.

I still don’t know whose nest this is. I have the piece of wood on my verandah waiting to see if anyone emerges. Isn’t it a fabulous build?

The Bull Ants build a large mound and if anyone comes near, out they come to defend their nest.

The spiders web is a fascinating build. This one I found on the ground, complete with dew drops sparkling like jewels, before the suns warmth melted it away

Mundane Monday Challenge #137

IT’s Mundane Monday time again. This time I used a function on my Canon SX 60 HS Powershot camera called Creative. It shoots the subject in a number of the functions of the camera in one go. Sometimes the results can be really great. Yesterday, early in the morning, I saw a spiders web that was lit by the sun, selected Creative and waited for the results. This capture was in Sepia and enhanced using Corel Paintshop Pro 2018.

The original setting were 1/400 F6.5 ISO400 for those who like this information

Go black and white and increase the black. Inspired by the photos at Roberts blog

Paperbark flowers

The Daily Post word prompt: Transformation

The Paperbark trees are flowering. The lovely creamy white blossoms attract birds, bees and all manner of insect. I thought that they were just the perfect thing to Transform

The original photo. The Paperbark blossoms in the early morning light.

Some people have said it reminds them of a May Gibbs drawing. Australians will know Snugglepot and Cuddlepie. Have as look here to see a bit of my Australian childhood

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Letter N

Have you ever seen a Nest hotel? The Pied Cormorants must enjoy nesting together as it was rather raucous with calls of “It’s your turn” or “Bring me a fish” or just chatting to while the time away. How many nests can you count?
