Another favourite blog challenge from Lost in Translation.
Here is a dog sitting on a post.
For those who follow my blog, you know I love photographing rust. Isn’t he great?

I recently put one of my Scarlet Honeyeater photos on a photo challenge blog from Dutch goes the Photo. I had quite a number of likes and comments so I thought I would do a series of Scarlet Honeyeater photos. Some of the photos are of the females as well as the striking males. Enjoy these the smallest honeyeaters in Australia.

I just had to do another blog for Franks Tuesday Photo Challenge: Pink
The Pink Euodia, an Australian native tree in my garden, attracts birds when the beautiful flowers are blooming.
Here is a Rainbow Lorikeet enjoying the flowers
The delightful Scarlet Honeyeater loves the pink blossoms
Frank has chosen Pink as the theme for the Tuesday Photo Challenge. I was going to recycle the paint can but I thought I must have some other pink here somewhere, other than flowers.
I took this photo with an old camera as I wasn’t too sure about taking my best camera aboard the yacht. We were leading the final race home after about 10 days of sailing from Grafton to Iluka on the Clarence River. Suddenly a breeze blew up and all the larger yachts put their spinnakers up and came zooming up behind us. It looked great from our little boat. Unfortunately the wind died and everyone was becalmed so the race was cancelled.
Don’t the yachts look great with their coloured sails?
I like the Traces of the Past photo challenge as I try to find subjects that may be a bit different. Follow the link to see other bits and pieces of the past that great photographers conjure up.
My Trace of the Past was found during an Angourie Dunecare revegetation and site clean up. One of the volunteers found a handbag discarded under a shrub covered in vegetation and sand. The handbag had been there for quite a number of years. Upon opening the old handbag, they discovered the contents was more or less intact despite being in the harsh conditions for almost 40 years. One of the volunteers managed to track down the owner who said the handbag was stolen from their car while they were at the beach during their honeymoon. She asked if her engagement ring was still in there. Unfortunately the ring and money which was in her purse were gone.
Have a look at the contents and see how many things you can name?
