Thursdays Special: Vernal

What a great photo challenge from Lost in Translation. Vernal is an inspirational adjective bringing thoughts of Spring – it’s colours and promise of life. It is the middle of Autumn here in Australia, so my selection of photos are from last years spring. Hoping it brings joy to you and your Spring.

The little native Blue-banded Bee loves to scrunch to get the nectare

Reflecting

The Daily Post photo challenge made me think of the photos I have with reflections. The ones that I chose were from the hours spent in La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. The whole structure is so amazing. The outside with its many carvings  and intricate designs but once inside the amazement turns to wonderment. The light through the myriad of stained glass windows is breathtaking.

The light reflects on every surface lighting the Sagrada with dancing colours.

This a small selection of what I saw.

Moon Goddess

moon_bw

The moon
full and bright,
in my garden
casts shadows among the trees –
I thought I saw
you there
dancing –
a woman of beauty,
a moon goddess.

Moonbeams casting
landing on petals,
shining on my skin,
entering my being
enveloping my heart
making it race,
distracting my thoughts
so I think of nothing
but her,
dancing in my garden,
lighting my life.

I shall sit here –
awaiting her come near
that I might steal a kiss,
my arms
encircle her waist
drawing her to me,
to feel her warmth,
her goddess fullness –
a moment of passion
to believe that
the dancing in the shadows
is not a dream,
a dream of beauty,
a dream of
my moon goddess –
casting her beams
throughout my garden
enchanting
captivating……..
